A machine allows therapists to enter patients’ dreams. When it’s stolen, all hell breaks loose, and only a woman therapist (nicknamed “Paprika”) seems able to stop it.

My thesis is about Dream.

Personally, I dream everyday. My dream has been my another world for me, which gives me a lot of interesting story. Since I was little young, I have wanted to recreate my dream. It can be a writing a story or can be a drawing or installation.

A dream is made of our everyday life. During we are awakened, we see, hear, and feel a lot of things in reality. Those are too much to remember. So during we are sleeping our brain arranges this. Sort out memories and put into the long term memory box from the temporary memory box. Our dream is made during this situation. While sorting out the memories our conscious mind loses some pieces of our memory which is not put into a long term memory box. The “Self”, which is beyond the consciousness and unconsciousness, sends a letter to us at night, to let us know what we lose and forget. So we can think our dream as a signal from our inner self to make our life better. My thesis goal is to make people rethink their life again and find what they are losing through dream, and ultimately build their life better.

There are two interesting features of dream for me.

First thing is that dreams reflect our condition and situation into the dream. When our feet is cold during sleeping, the dream reflects this condition. In my case, I dreamed heavy rain poured in the old house, when I woke up, it was a heavy rainy night, and my window was opened. It was so interesting for me that dream reflected my situation, but it was different way to express.

The second thing is that he expression of dream. The situation and expression of dream is so real and in the same thine it is surreal. Just like my heavy rainy house dream. This characteristic makes dream fantastic and marvellous. Now I am researching how artists have expressed the dream visually through installations, painting, movie, photography, and etc. I try to set my style of expressing my dream visually, and hopefully, recreate my dream interestingly.
